Environmentally-Friendly Roof Systems
Over the years, Pawcatuck Roofing has stayed on the
cutting edge of the changes in roofing technology, methods and
materials. Today, roofing is a key component in leadership in
energy and environmental design or (LEED) which validates the
“greenness” of a building. TPO membranes are available in a
highly reflective, white color that can offer significant energy
savings. On a summer day, a black roof can reach temperatures
exceeding 170°F, while a TPO membrane or a roof coated with a
highly reflective white elastomeric coating can be as low as 110°F,
which transmits much less solar heat into a building. Many cool
roofs have reflectivities of 75 to 80 percent. This means that
only 20 to 25 percent of the sun’s energy is being absorbed into
the roof.
Highly reflective white elastomeric coating such as our “Topcoat
Roof Restoration System” can reduce the damage ultra violet rays
can have on an existing or aging roof, while extending its serviceable
life. When your existing roof is beyond a simple repair, but
not yet ready to be replaced, it’s like getting a new roof at
up to half of the cost. This also includes limited guarantees,
up to 15 years.
From a “Green Building” point of view, whether your needs are
maintenance coatings, total roof system replacement, LEED certification,
or support for a rooftop solar array system, call Pawcatuck Roofing
for the most environmentally friendly roofing systems on the market
today.
